UDPA Booth at the 6th African Dairy Conference
From 19 - 21 May, the Association presented its fine colours and products at its booth among the many featuring at the 6th African Dairy Conference. Sameer Agriculture & Livestock Ltd displayed their wide variety of dairy products of which powdered instant milk was among their latest. Paramount Dairies Ltd laid out a fine selection of its cheeses in various formats. Many visitors picked pamphlets and brochures. A number of new contacts were made, strenghtening relations with the Rwanda market.
The Association wishes all participating members much success in Kigali.
On Thursday 14 January, Land O'Lakes generously shared its evaluation findings with a number of stakeholders; farmers, farmer groups, processors and government agencies.
Thanks significantly to Land O'Lakes technical and resourceful inputs, the Uganda dairy industry has seen accelerated growth, with milk production now growing a 3.6% annually, comparely to almost stagnant growth during the 1980's. The UDPA truly appreciates Land O'Lakes great assistance and patience to bring processors together in 2003 as to finally form its association. In 2004, the first Chairman of the Association then became the first Chairman of ESADA and hosted the 2nd African Dairy Conference - Exhibition in 2004 (Kampala). One of the many highlights of Land O'Lakes encouraging influence.
The Association wishes Land O'Lakes well in their endeavours and cherishes the hope of their early return to Uganda for another term.
